Originally named Smith Battery, our roots date back to 1955 in old-downtown Kitchener on Charles St. The original owner, Bert Smith had a vision to provide the community with reliable, trustworthy batteries. Back in the day, batteries were smelted, rebuilt, and sold right in our shop!
With business picking up, the business was in need of knowledgeable staff. Bert was a mentor to Brian Birnstihl, a long-time employee and close friend. Brian took over the business come Bert's retirement in the early 80's.
During this time, the demand for batteries for farmers, automobiles, power-sports increase and so did our business. We expanded our warehouse to house more product and serve the local community. Our delivery services expanded from local routes to all over Southern Ontario.
With our knowledgeable and experienced team, we are proud to keep the business alive. Celebrating over 67 years of service, we have expanded our products to include solar, RV, SLA, and more!
